This is our first Village at Tower Oaks web site and I am delighted to have this opportunity to address our community. By creating this site and by a number of other actions, We hope to establish better communications and initiatives within our Village. As many of you know who voted at our annual meeting in April, a resolution has expanded our Board of Directors to seven members. Also, we have established five committees to better represent issues that do or could affect us all and a description of each follows this message. We have also listed each Board member including contact information and I hope all of you will meet and become acquainted with at least a subset of the members. You can raise issues with them or contact George Hedrick (e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ), our CMI property manager, if you have issues that you would like to bring to the attention of the Board. Perhaps this is a good time to articulate the main purpose of the Board. Many people think of the Home Owners Association as a citizens’ association (CA). Although we assume some functions that are normally addressed by CA’s, our main purpose is to oversee the financial status and maintenance of the Village. Did you know, for example, that the common areas, walls, streets, curbs, lights, signs, etc. are owned by all of us? With that ownership comes the responsibility for maintaining them. We have reserve funds set aside for such maintenance, that our treasurer, Allen Woodside, addresses in his treasurer’s report. One final thought; I am sure that you all are pleased that our property values continue to increase. My goal, and that of the Board, is to do all that we can to assure that this trend continues. At the same time, I hope that we can join together to make a contribution to the quality of life in our Village at Tower Oaks. Jim Benson President
